The PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson/University of Arizona Cancer Center is a 12-month program for training pharmacists with an interest in oncology, hematology, stem cell transplant, and investigational drug research. The program was established in 2017 and is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
The PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency provides a well-rounded experience in acute and ambulatory medical oncology, hematology, and stem cell transplant. The University of Arizona Cancer Center is the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state of Arizona. The PGY2 oncology resident will be actively involved in the therapeutic decision-making process and clinical outcomes for cancer patients. In addition, the resident will gain experiences in teaching, precepting, clinical research, and quality improvement. The resident will also be prepared for board certification in oncology pharmacy upon completion of this residency.
