The Oncology PGY2 pharmacy residency program at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson (BUMCT) and University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) provides a well- rounded experience in acute and ambulatory medical oncology, hematology, and stem cell transplant. The residency is designed to develop a confident and capable clinical oncology pharmacist prepared for a future clinical, research, or academic position, and board certification in oncology pharmacy.
UACC is the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center headquartered in Arizona, where bringing promising new therapies from the laboratory to the bedside is a high priority. The PGY2 oncology resident will serve as a fully integrated member of multidisciplinary teams involved in the therapeutic decision-making process and optimizing clinical outcomes for patients with cancer. In addition, the resident will be exposed to a broad spectrum of new diagnostic, prevention and treatment strategies and gain experience in clinical research, quality improvement, teaching and precepting.
