Banner Health Vascular Surgery, part of the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado, provides comprehensive care for artery and vein conditions in Greeley. About Us

Our dedicated staff provides education, screening and treatment for peripheral artery disease (PAD), venous disorders and lymphatic conditions. Led by Dr. Timothy Fuller and Dr. Devin Sponseller, our clinic offers convenient vascular care with ultrasound and diagnostic studies performed in office, reducing the need to travel to another location for testing.

Conditions we treat

Arterial conditions:

• Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) - A bulging or weakened area in the abdominal aorta that can enlarge over time. Early detection is important to help reduce the risk of rupture.
• Carotid artery disease - Narrowing or blockage of the carotid arteries in the neck often caused by plaque buildup. This can increase the risk of stroke.
• Peripheral artery disease (PAD) - Narrowing of the arteries in the legs that reduces blood flow. PAD may cause leg pain while walking and can increase cardiovascular risk.
• Renal artery disease - Narrowing of arteries that supply blood to the kidneys. This condition can contribute to high blood pressure.

Venous conditions:

• Acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) - A blood clot that forms suddenly in a deep vein, often in the leg. Prompt treatment can help prevent complications such as pulmonary embolism.
• Chronic venous disease - A long-term condition where leg veins do not move  blood back to the heart as well as they should. This can cause swelling, skin changes or varicose veins.
• Peripheral venous disease - Problems with the veins in the legs that may cause pain, swelling, heaviness or visible varicose veins.
• Varicose veins and spider veins - Enlarged, twisted veins or small surface veins caused by poor valve function. They may cause pain, swelling or cosmetic concerns.
• Venous insufficiency - Poor blood flow in leg veins that may lead to to swelling, heaviness, skin changes or other symptoms.
• Venous ulcers - Open sores caused by poor venous circulation, often on the lower leg or ankle.
• Venous stasis dermatitis - Skin inflammation caused by poor circulation in the veins.
• Superficial venous thrombosis - Blood clots that form in veins close to the surface of the skin.
• Post-thrombotic syndrome - Long-term symptoms that can occur after deep vein thrombosis, such as pain, swelling and skin changes.
• Phlebitis - Inflammation of a vein that may cause pain, redness or swelling.

Specialized conditions:

• Pelvic venous disorders/pelvic congestion syndrome - Venous congestion or malfunction in the pelvis that can cause pelvic pain, pressure or varicose veins in the pelvic or groin region.
• Thoracic outlet syndrome - Compression of nerves or blood vessels between the collarbone and first rib. Symptoms may include arm pain, swelling, numbness or circulation problems.
• May Thurner syndrome - Compression of the left iliac vein, which can increase the risk of leg swelling or blood clots.
• Paget Schroetter syndrome – A type of upper extremity DVT that affects veins in the arm or shoulder area.

Arterial disease services:

• Stress and resting PVR (pulse volume recording, also known as arterial flow studies)
• Carotid duplex scanning for TIA or stroke
• Renal artery scanning for hypertension
• Peripheral artery intervention including balloon angioplasty, stent placement and atherectomy
• Minimally invasive endovascular procedures

These services may benefit patients with lifestyle-limiting claudication, which is leg pain that occurs while walking. They may also offer treatment options for patients with diabetes who have non-healing ulcers.

Venous and lymphatic disease services:

We provide treatment for a full spectrum of venous disorders, including:

• EVLT (endovenous laser therapy) - An outpatient, non-surgical laser procedure for varicose veins. It is performed in-office with minimal to no downtime.
• Sclerotherapy – A treatment for spider veins and smaller varicose veins.
• Comprehensive venous evaluations and treatment planning

With our minimally invasive procedures, many patients can walk out of the office and return to normal activities quickly, often the same day.
