Behavioral Health Services at Banner - University Medical Center South

Banner – University Medical Center South and our Behavioral Health Pavilion in Tucson provide behavioral and mental health treatment programs for adults and children in outpatient settings. We also provide inpatient services for adults needing a higher level of care. We encourage patients and family members to be active, involved and informed. We believe families can and do heal together.

What treatments are available?

Banner – University Medical Center South offers a wide range of support and treatments for behavioral and mental health issues to handle psychiatric emergencies. Forms of treatment include:

  • Psychiatric and Psychological Assessment and Evaluation
  • Medication Management
  • Psychotherapy Services
  • Psychological Testing
  • Evaluation and treatment of difficult to treat psychiatric conditions
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS)
  • Treatment with esketamine

Banner serves adult and children, and offers care delivered by psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, counselors, and trainees under supervision. To request an appointment, please call (520) 874-7500. 

Behavioral Health Pavilion

The Behavioral Health Pavilion combines psychiatric and behavioral health services in one location for a wide range of inpatient and outpatient care. These include:

  • Inpatient units for adults 
  • Psychiatric outpatient clinics for behavioral health assessment and ongoing care

Patients have the opportunity to participate in University of Arizona research that helps our providers extend their knowledge of the latest treatments that we apply when appropriate. 

Whole Health Clinic

The Whole Health Clinic is a freestanding, outpatient behavioral health clinic operated by Banner – University Medicine. The clinic, located at 535 N. Wilmot Rd, provides a wide range of comprehensive and integrated services to address the whole-health needs of individuals with mental illness. Located within the Whole Health Clinic is the Early Psychosis Intervention Center (EPICenter), a community mental health program offering specialized treatments for those who are early in the course of a psychotic illness. Learn more.
