Frequently asked questions

Why did someone that walked in after me get taken back before me?

There are two reasons this might happen:

• Online reservations: Patients who check in online will appear on the waiting room screen with their reservation type. We recommend using online check-in to secure your spot in line.
• Shorter appointments: Some appointments, like flu shots, are quicker and don't require a full visit with a provider. These patients may be seen in a separate line to keep the flow of appointments moving smoothly. 

How does the leave and come back feature work?

This feature allows you to hold your place in line without waiting in an exam room. You'll receive a return time so you can step away from the clinic for a bit.

Important to note:

• Leaving the clinic doesn't guarantee your spot. You'll be treated like an online check-in patient and delays may push your return time back.
• We won't call you back early if an earlier slot opens. We only update patients if their return time is delayed.
• If a walk-in arrives while you're gone and a room opens, they may be seen before you. This keeps the clinic efficient and avoids having someone wait unnecessarily.

Another patient just jumped ahead of me in the queue, what's happening?

Sometimes, patients with urgent needs may be seen right away. We inform everyone in the waiting room about these delays and update the wait time display. You may also receive a text notification if you're not present.

My wait time on the TV changed, why?

The wait time reflects real-time clinic activity and can change due to:

• Patient visits taking longer or shorter than expected.
• Urgent cases needing immediate attention.
• Patients leaving without treatment.
• Patients being redirected to a different type of visit.

When should I use online check-in?

Use online check-in for most urgent care needs, including flu shots, minor injuries or illnesses. If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.
