Volunteer at Banner - University Medical Center South

Volunteers from our Banner-University Medicine locations provide integral support to Banner’s nonprofit mission of “Making health care easier, so life can be better.” Through generous gifts of time and talents, our volunteers make health care easier through direct assistance to our patients, their families and by enabling our staff to provide high-quality health care in a reasonable timeframe.

Requirements to Become a Volunteer

    • Must be 16 years of age or older.
    • Must commit to volunteering at least 2 hours each week for a minimum of 6 months and 100 hours.
    • Must be able to provide current up-to-date immunization records. View our Volunteer Health Requirements
    • Must be prepared to attend a group interview session and can pass a background check.

    How to begin

    To start the process of becoming a Banner-University Medicine volunteer in Tucson, Arizona, please review all requirements above and complete our Volunteer Group Interview Interest Form below to be contacted for available group interview sessions.

    **A Volunteer Coordinator will confirm room location/times for each interview session upon finalizing the group interview sign-up.

    Additional Information

    Banner-UMCTS Volunteer Services does not oversee any experiences such as obtaining clinical hour shadowing (including job shadowing), observations, internships, and externships. For more information on these experiences, please call (520) 694-6703.
