The Banner difference: Why nearly 75,000 Scottsdale residents choose us. Nearly 75,000 Scottsdale residents choose Banner for their care. The Banner difference is a nationally recognized health system that delivers:
This state-of-the-art campus represents more than expansion, it's about giving residents a distinctive option in Scottsdale's health care marketplace. This brings access to leading specialists, breakthrough treatments, and award-winning programs without traveling across the Valley.
You already know our Scottsdale network—primary care, Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale, behavioral health services, cardiovascular care, and specialized imaging. Now we're adding hospital care, ensuring seamless access to our award-winning specialists and innovative treatments all in one place.
Based directly on community feedback, we've designed our campus to fit Scottsdale's character. This development aligns with the City of Scottsdale General Plan 2035 by promoting health and human services while providing diverse economic activities and employment opportunities that enhance community prosperity.
Located at Loop 101 and Hayden Road, the new campus represents a $750+ million private capital investment in Scottsdale's health care future. This two-phase medical campus will create approximately 2,500 high quality, high paying Scottsdale jobs and establish a 350,000-square-foot destination for advanced medical care.
After breaking ground in May 2025, phase one of the campus is well underway to construct Banner Health Center plus. The multi-specialty clinical office will include urgent care, outpatient surgery, imaging, pharmacy, and cancer services in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center, a nationally recognized leader in cancer care. Banner Health Center plus is expected to be open and serving the community by early 2027.
Phase two is heading to Scottsdale City Council for review in coming months to build Banner Scottsdale Medical Center – a 350,000-square-foot hospital with and a two-story diagnostic and treatment building including emergency, surgery, lab, pharmacy, and support services. Later phases will expand capacity up to 300 beds and add additional diagnostic and treatment facilities.
Arizona ranks 42nd nationally in hospital beds per capita, and the northeast Valley is projected to add 100,000 new residents by 2030—creating an urgent need for expanded health care infrastructure. The new Banner Scottsdale medical campus directly addresses these challenges by bringing more than 60 clinical specialists across multiple specialty services directly to Scottsdale, backed by Banner's nationally recognized clinical expertise. More specialists in your community means shorter wait times for appointments, faster access to specialized care, and reduced travel across the Valley for advanced treatments.
This investment will expand access to emergency, surgical, and specialty care when and where you need it, increase health care choices for residents with a differentiated option for excellence, reduce strain on existing hospitals by adding critical capacity to the region, and improve emergency response times with a full-service hospital in northeast Scottsdale. With Banner's proven track record of clinical excellence and this significant expansion of specialist availability, Scottsdale residents will have faster access to the advanced, coordinated care they deserve.
