What to Expect

When you come to our wound care clinics, you will be met by compassionate specialists who will help you with difficult wounds. We will work with you and your doctor to create a treatment plan that helps you get better as quickly as possible. You can relax, knowing you’re in good hands.

Special Care Dedicated To You

Your first appointment with a wound care specialist will begin with an extensive review of your medical history. We will also closely examine your wound. Afterward, we will develop a treatment plan to help you recover from your slow-healing wound.

Once your treatment plan is established, our team guides you through the wound healing process. This might include teaching you how to care for the wound, helping you get any supplies you may need and coordinating any tests your doctor requests.

We regularly communicate with your doctor about how your treatment is progressing.

Will I Need Tests?

Your doctor may order a diagnostic test. In some cases, you may be able to have the test done at home. In others, you may visit a clinic. Your assigned case manager will make sure all of your tests are coordinated, and we’ll help with insurance authorizations, if you need them.

What Can I Expect After Treatment Starts?

Wound care might seem pretty complex, but we’ll do our best to give you the information you need. You will likely get instructions on caring for and speeding up the healing process of your wounds.

This may include:

  • Nutrition and fluid intake
  • Prescribed medications
  • Appropriate apparel and shoe wear
  • How to take care of the wound at home
  • Proper hand washing and preventive measures that are appropriate to your lifestyle, ability to move and living conditions
