Welcome Physicians

Thank you for your interest in applying to the medical staff at Banner Washakie Medical Center. We would like to extend a warm welcome on behalf of our Administration and the entire Medical Staff.

We welcome your involvement as we cultivate a positive environment of teamwork, growth and cooperation for our patients, health care providers and associates.  We look forward to you sharing your expertise and ideas by participation in Medical Staff department meetings and encourage you to become involved in other standing committees. 

This Orientation Program has been developed to provide you with valuable information regarding how to navigate through our facility and find people who can assist you. The program is comprehensive, convenient and completion is required prior to approval of privileges. Completion of this program can be completed at any time throughout your medical staff application process.

Identification Badges Required on Campus  
Stop by Medical Staff Services Office or Human Resources Office to obtain your ID Badge. You will need to provide a legible government issued ID card (current driver’s license, military ID or passport).  Physicians, (add APP when approved), allied health practitioners, residents and students must wear a Banner identification badge while on campus and should be worn above the waist.  
 
Parking 

  • Provider parking is available in the north and west sections of the parking lot (behind the main entrance of Washakie Medical Center). Provider and employee parking are marked. The entrance to this area of the building is just north of the emergency room.
  • If necessary, parking is also available in the northern section of the guest parking lot at the main entrance.
  • There is a secondary entrance to the facility on the west side of the building, north of the emergency room entrance. 

Provider Amenities

  • The provider resource area located in Perioperative Services.  Your badge will allow you to access the physicians’ resource and lounge areas. 
  • The Washakie Medical Center dining room is available from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for lunch. If staying onsite, a menu is available from culinary services for breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. 

Security
Banner wants everyone to be safe on campus. Our Security patrols 24/7, offering both internal and external support to providers, patients, associates, and visitors.  
 
If you observe suspicious conduct or behavior while on hospital property or if you or someone else is the victim of a crime, call security dispatch at (307) 347-5899.  

Medical Staff Services provides administrative support to the medical staff and facilitates communication related to medical staff matters.  

Responsibilities include assisting with regulatory compliance, credentialing, peer review, resident/student rotations, continuing medical education, committees, and maintaining current governing documents of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff: Bylaws, Policies, Rules and Regulations.  

Medical Staff Services is located down the administrative hallway next to the Washakie Conference Room and is open Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 12 noon.

Medical Records or Health Information Management Services) (HIMS)

Banner Washakie Medical Center utilizes Cerner for electronic medical record documentation. Medical Records, or Health Information Management Services (HIMS), can be reached directly at (307) 347-6968   

Other services offered by HIMS include:

  • Record Completion
  • Coding
  • Release of Information

Washakie Medical Center provides Care Coordinators and an IT Clinical Informatics Professional to assist physicians by providing the most up-to-date clinical knowledge and Medicare requirements to all documentation options. CDSs also can provide physicians with the impact these options can have on severity ratings.

Our Care Coordinators and IT Informaticist can be utilized concurrently on the floors and will assist the physicians in using compliant language in addition to helping with communication to the hospital coders.
