Traumatic and acquired brain injuries have many causes including assaults, falls, hypoxia/anoxia, motor vehicle collisions, seizure disorders, spasticity management, sports injuries and tumors. These types of brain injuries require expert trauma care, specialized rehabilitation, and often lifelong disease and injury management.
At the Brain Injury Center at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, we offer an array of integrated services for people with brain injuries. It is our goal to provide each patient with the best possible recovery while minimizing disabilities from the injury and maximizing independence.

Our center is internationally recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Our multidisciplinary teams, under the Rehabilitation Institute consist of board certified physiatrists, neurologists, rehabilitation psychologists, hospitalists, advanced practice nurses, therapists and other experts who work collaboratively with you and your loved ones to provide care and resources after a brain injury.

The Brain Injury Center supports the neurology residency program at Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix.
The specialists at the Brain Injury Center provide ongoing support for the optimal management of aging with disability for the optimal management of aging with disability, which includes reconnection of the patient to health and wellness programs, referrals to the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona and Banner Concussion Center.
