Stroke Rehabilitation Center

While stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain, more than 6.5 million people in the United States have survived one. However, stroke is one of the leading and most lasting causes of disability.

Rehabilitation is one of the best options to promote functional recovery and independence after stroke.

The Stroke Rehabilitation Center provides many integrated services for people with vascular disease of the brain aimed at getting you or your loved one the best possible outcome while reducing disability, and promoting self-management and recovery.

Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix is accredited by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, making it the first hospital in Arizona to achieve the industry's highest level of stroke certification. This important designation signifies a hospital-wide commitment to providing state-of-the-art stroke care for even the most complex cases.

In addition, our Stroke Rehabilitation Center is recognized as a Stroke Specialty Program by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The Stroke Rehabilitation Center's multidisciplinary team consists of board certified physiatrists (physicians specializing in rehabilitation medicine), vascular neurologists, hospitalists, advanced practice nurses, and therapists as well as other experts.

By providing care based on the best practices in the industry from across multiple spectrums of stroke and neurological care, our goal is to help you from admission to recovery.

We offer treatment for the following stroke complications:

  • Arteriovenous malformation
  • Botox injections
  • Brain stem stroke
  • Cerebral aneurysm
  • Electromyography
  • Hemorrhagic stroke
  • Ischemic stroke
  • Transient ischemic attack (TIA)
