When to Go to Urgent Care for an Injury

Banner Health Urgent Care Centers are a good option if you have a minor injury, such as a sprained wrist, twisted ankle or simple fracture. Sprains and fractures can cause pain, swelling, bruising and limited movement at the site of the injury.

Can you go to urgent care for broken bones? Yes. Banner Urgent Care is equipped to treat simple fractures. Our medical team is here to promptly arrange care, perform diagnostic tests such as x-rays, when necessary, and provide treatment to decrease pain and prevent further damage. Our doctors may also recommend a specialist if you need follow-up care.

Do not go to urgent care for serious or life-threatening injuries. Call 911 or go to the emergency room for major injuries such as injury to the spine or neck, a compound fracture (a broken bone that’s protruding through the skin), or a deep laceration that won’t stop bleeding.

What Types of Testing and Treatments Are Available at Urgent Care?

Our fully certified medical staff can perform x-rays and many other tests. With onsite access to state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants are able to efficiently and accurately diagnose your injury and immediately provide treatment.

Banner Health Urgent Care Clinics have multiple onsite testing options available, such as x-rays. Our expert staff is able to deliver a wide-array of care options, including medication, splints, wound care, stitches, IVs, shots and treatment plans.
