Patient Support & Education

Bariatric surgery can be an important journey to dramatic weight loss. But it can also change your life in other ways as well.

Education and support are crucial to weight loss and maintaining health. Here you can access information across the bariatric surgery journey, find local support groups and more.

Your Bariatric Surgery Journey

Bariatric surgery is a lifetime investment, and you are far from alone. Our bariatric team of specialists is here to ensure your health and long-term success.

We will help with the following:

  • What and when do you eat. A registered dietitian will work with you to develop a healthy diet plan and any supplements or vitamins you need.
  • How to exercise. A fitness expert can help develop a regular fitness routine that meets your lifestyle and keeps you moving.
  • How you feel about yourself and your body. A behavioral health specialist will help provide emotional support as you need it. It is normal to experience emotions like confusion and anxiety as you embark on your new life.

Support After Surgery

Baritastic weight loss app

This is our favorite weight loss app for weight loss surgery patients. The app provides motivation and support before and after surgery via the weekly motivation tab. The app provides an easy way to log your food and water intake and keep you on track to achieve your weight loss goals. Baritastic also gives you access to in-person and online support group options. Talk to your bariatric team for more information about the app and the ways it can help you before and after bariatric surgery.

Support groups

After bariatric surgery, it’s important to maintain healthy habits and lifestyle changes to continue to lose weight and keep it off. Our team offers support even after your first year of surgery, and you can find local support groups to provide you with an entire network of people who will act as a resource throughout your life.
