Hospice Care

Our hospice care is designed to support patients with end of life care in Northern Colorado and surrounding areas. We focus on ensuring quality of life so you can live each day with your loved ones as fully as possible.

Who Needs Hospice Care?

Hospice is a special health care option for end of life care. We approach hospice care with the goal of keeping you in your home as much as possible, with a team of professionals that will provide support where you are most comfortable.

Hospice care is often helpful for those:

  • With a life-limiting or terminal illness
  • Who no longer respond to or seek aggressive treatment or therapies
  • Who want symptom management to provide comfort & quality of life, also known as palliative care
  • Who need help with pain management

We offer our compassionate hospice care services for you while also keeping the entire family closely involved in the process. There are many different options for hospice care, and we focus on creating a unique hospice plan for you and your loved ones.

Does Banner Health Offer 24-Hour Hospice Care?

You'll find the Hospice Care Team at Banner Health is available 24-hours a day to provide mindful care and comfort when you need us most.

Palliative vs. Hospice Care

Hospice care is a type of palliative care. Palliative care focuses on managing symptoms and helping patients feel as comfortable as possible. While all hospice is palliative care, not all palliative care is hospice.

Our hospice care program is here to help patients and their families receive the support and information they need to relieve stress.

Who Pays for Hospice Care?

We accept the following payment options for Hospice Care:

Medicare Hospice Benefit

Medicare hospice benefits cover:

  • Care and services of hospice team members
  • Medications and medical equipment related to the terminal illness
  • All levels of care: routine, respite, inpatient and continuous

Private Insurance Carriers

For those carrying private insurances, hospice benefits are often available. If you have private insurance and are not sure of hospice coverage, please contact our office at (970) 397-2451. Our knowledgeable staff is here to assist.
