Gynecologic Care for Every Woman at Every Age

We care for women through every age and every stage of their lives. Beginning in adolescence, we help young women as they begin their gynecology care. We provide care for family planning, fertility issues and pregnancy along with parenting and breastfeeding support. And we support you through the transition to perimenopause, menopause and beyond. Look to Banner Health for all your gynecologic health needs throughout your life.

Banner Health focuses on preventative care for women's health at every age and every phase of life. We encourage all women to have annual well-woman exams to evaluate the health of your reproductive organs. Whether it is a recommendation about when to begin your annual screening mammograms or a discussion about the changes that come with perimenopause or menopause, your doctor will be with you to answer any questions or explain concerns you may have.

And if we discover you need care for a breast or gynecologic condition, we will make sure you get the treatment you need.

An important reason for having well-woman check ups on a regular basis is to make sure that your doctor is able catch and diagnose issues early on and to work with you on a plan for treatment as soon as possible.

Some screening and diagnostic tests your doctor may order include:

  • Lab work such as blood tests and urine tests
  • Pap test
  • Ultrasound
  • Breast biopsy, including stereotactic breast biopsy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, fine-needle aspiration and surgical biopsy
  • Breast cyst aspiration
  • Ductogram to evaluate nipple discharge

If you need any of these tests, your doctor will discuss them with you and also will review the results with you to ensure that all of your questions are answered.

If you need care for a specific condition, we will recommend the most effective treatment option for you. This may include medication or the latest procedures such as robotic or minimally invasive surgery.

Among the comprehensive surgical options we provide are:

  • Hysterectomy, myomectomy and minimally invasive uterine fibroid embolization
  • Pelvic floor reconstruction
  • Pelvic laparoscopy to treat pelvic pain, endometriosis and infertility
  • Pelvic muscle rehabilitation for urinary incontinence
  • Permanent birth control such as tubal ligation
  • Surgery for gynecologic cancers
  • Vaginal vault suspension and sacrocolpopexy to treat pelvic organ prolapse

We provide care to help you get pregnant. Our specialists work with you and your partner to determine the cause of any fertility issues that may be having. We have a range of assessments and reproduction options, including:

  • In vitro fertilization (IVF)
  • Ovulation induction (OI)
  • Donor sperm and donor egg procedures
  • Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
