Long COVID

While the lasting effects of COVID-19 are still being understood, there has been an overwhelming number of COVID-19 survivors suffering from long COVID symptoms.

Long COVID is defined as having symptoms that persist, relapse or recur for more than 30 days after onset of confirmed, or suspected, COVID-19 illness following recovery from the initial illness.

Common long COVID symptoms include:

  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Brain fog
  • Chest pain
  • Digestive pain/issues
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Weight loss
  • Continued respiratory symptoms
  • Continued loss of taste and smell

How do you know if you have Long COVID?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, you may benefit from a Long COVID evaluation. Please contact your primary care provider or find a Banner doctor to schedule your evaluation.

1. Were you diagnosed with COVID-19 or suspect you had COVID-19 longer than 30 days ago?

2. Are you currently experiencing any of the following symptoms?

  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Brain fog
  • Chest pain
  • Digestive pain/issues
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Weight loss
  • Respiratory symptoms
  • Hair loss

3. If you previously had any of the symptoms above from another chronic medical illness, have any of them worsened since your diagnosis/suspected diagnosis of COVID-19?
