Athletic training is designed to prevent injury or re-injury and keep athletes safe on their field of play. It includes teaching prevention techniques as well as examining, diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating acute or chronic injuries or conditions.
An athletic trainer is a highly trained health care professional who specializes in injuries to athletes of all ages and abilities.
