Our Framework

To provide administrative support and oversight for approximately 1200 inpatient and outpatient research projects, we work with Banner Health administrators and key decision makers to establish hospital-based research departments comprising research directors, clinical research nurses, clinical research coordinators and Regulatory Affairs support.

Research directors and research staff work with interested investigators and senior leaders to assess what it will take in terms of time, resources and effort to support a broad array of research projects. They can help investigators by:

  • Utilizing the Integrated Research Information System (iRIS), the electronic submission platform
  • Championing facility-based feasibility review meetings
  • Moving projects through our concurrent review and approval process
  • Tracking study progress via centralized Clinical Trial Management System

Institutional Review Board

An Institutional Review Board (IRB) is an FDA-required committee that ensures the rights and welfare of people participating in research are protected. Learn more about the Banner Health IRB.

Banner Health research institutions receive millions of dollars in grants enabling our researchers to collaborate and innovate as they advance the science. Learn more about grant proposal and submission at Banner Health.
