At Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, we understand that coming into the clinic regularly can be difficult for some patients, so we created the Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic to provide in-home services for metastatic breast cancer on oral chemotherapy medications who meet criteria for enrollment. The Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic brings the convenience of the clinic to your home for select services.
If you have metastatic breast cancer, a home care nurse from the Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic may come to your home to:
The Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic does not provide IV chemotherapy.
Two to three days after your home visit, you will have a video visit with a physician to discuss your lab results and answer any questions you have. However, if anything urgent comes up during the home nurse visit, the physician is contacted immediately.
Currently, the Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic is only available to metastatic breast cancer patients who meet a criteria based on functional status, limited resources to care, and advanced age. However, there are a number of other breast cancer programs you may benefit from.
If you qualify for the Metastatic Mobile Breast Cancer Clinic, your oncologist will discuss the program with you, then alert the Nurse Navigator that you are a candidate. The Nurse Navigator will contact you and provide information about the clinic and verify your information, then refer you to Banner Home Care. The Clinic RN will schedule for the next available video visit appointment, usually in 3-4 weeks.
