At Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, our palliative care program helps relieve the pain and symptoms associated with cancer while providing care that truly gives patients hope.
Trusting relationships between patients, their families and their care teams are the cornerstone of our palliative care program. Guided by the philosophy that HOPE is about Helping Oncology Patients to be Empowered, our palliative care team works to alleviate the stress caused by a cancer diagnosis and allow patients to focus on healing.
Our specially trained physicians, nurses and support staff, including social workers, case managers and clinical navigators have the credentials to coordinate care for those with chronic illnesses and the compassion to do it in a manner that is respectful of their wishes.
The guidance and support provided through palliative care can enhance your understanding of treatment choices. This enables you to better tolerate medical treatments and empowers you to make informed decisions about your care. This extra layer of support can be provided along with curative treatment throughout your cancer journey.
Palliative care offers compassionate and comprehensive relief services designed to address the patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs during every stage of their cancer diagnosis.
As such, we offer a range of integrative oncology therapies including acupuncture, yoga and nutrition counseling. Learn more about our integrative therapies.
