No one plans to go to the Emergency department. You may find yourself there if you or a loved one has had an accident, become injured, or have a sudden illness.
Common reasons for a visit to the Emergency department include:
Banner Health Emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are staffed by specially trained doctors, nurses and staff.
CALL 911 IF YOU ARE HAVING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
If you are having a medical emergency, you will be seen as soon as possible in an exam room. Most treatments and procedures will be done in that room.
Often, there are a variety of tests that need to be done to correctly diagnose and treat your emergency. See Screenings & Diagnosis.
We understand that you want your stay in the Emergency department to be as short as possible. If you have a minor illness or injury, you may be moved from the exam area to other areas for treatment, procedures or to wait until test results have been received to expedite your care.
For more severe emergencies, you may continue treatment in the emergency department, be admitted to a room, or be discharged home with home care and follow-up instructions.
