About the Banner Poison and Drug Information Center

The Banner Poison and Drug Information Center, based at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, has served Maricopa County and surrounding areas since 1979. We are funded by Banner Health, the state of Arizona, the federal government and private donations.

Our mission to prevent and treat poison exposures

We work to protect the health of our community by:

• Being the primary resource for poison-related emergencies in Maricopa County
• Providing expert support for poisonings, envenomations and toxic exposures
• Offering education and outreach for health care providers and the public
• Managing poison exposures through telephone triage, consultation, and follow-up care
