Venom Basics

Some simple tips to help keep yourself safe from venomous creatures:

  • When outdoors, be aware of your surroundings; venomous creatures are active during the warmest parts of the day in winter and the coolest parts of day in summer
  • If you leave clothing, shoes, towels, etc., outside be sure to check them before use
  • Do not put your hands or feet in tight outdoor spaces
  • Wear shoes and use a flashlight when outdoors after dark
