Outpatient Heart Procedures

Outpatient heart procedures address any issues that may arise in the heart, such as needing a pacemaker. Before surgery, you’ll meet with your doctor to ensure your heart is healthy enough and to see if you need any imaging or additional testing before proceeding with an outpatient heart procedure.

Common Outpatient Heart Procedures

Banner Health’s outpatient heart procedures and surgeries are minimally invasive. With no hospital stays, we’ll have you resting and recovering from the comfort of your own home after the surgery.

Some common outpatient heart procedures include:

  • Pacemaker implants
  • Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) implantation
  • Peripheral interventions
  • AV fistula surgery to repair an abnormal connection or passageway between an artery and vein
  • IVC filter insertion, removal or retrieval
  • Electrophysiology tests

The caring staff at Banner Health is dedicated to making your outpatient heart procedure as smooth and comfortable as possible. Remember, many of Banner’s outpatient surgeries or procedures can be done at either an outpatient or inpatient facility. Talk to your doctor about where to have your procedure and what to expect during outpatient heart procedures.
