Your Banner Health OB provider will set up regular appointments based on your age, health condition and pregnancy. Your OB provider will also recommend diagnosis for you and your baby.
It’s important to have early and regular obstetrical care to ensure a healthy pregnancy. The first trimester (weeks 0 to 12) is an exciting time. Your baby’s major organs and systems are formed during this time. That’s why your first obstetrical appointment is usually the most thorough one you’ll have.

Feeling nervous or worried about becoming a mom? Wondering if what is happening to your body is typical? Being worried is normal, but we’re here to discuss any of your concerns you may have about the changes in your body and becoming a parent.
We’re here to calm your nerves and provide the obstetrical care you need during this special time. If you have a non-emergency medical question, call your OB/GYN and a nurse will return your call. If you are experiencing an emergency, such as heavy bleeding, visit the nearest emergency room or call 911.
Most pregnancies are healthy and uncomplicated. But sometimes you or your baby has a condition that requires closer monitoring. You may need to see a specialist in high-risk obstetrics (a maternal-fetal medicine specialist or perinatologist) for this extra care, and additional tests may be required.
